Practice Nurses - Tracy Ivey R.N. & Jennifer Birchall R.N.

Our Practice Nurses, Tracy and Jen, are highly skilled in the area of vaccine administration and management. They are able to address any concerns regarding childhood diseases and those afflicting our young adults.  As both are parents themselves, they are able to deal with these concerns with compassion and understanding. Any issues are dealt with by offering reliable and factual information.

Tracy has gained accreditation as an official NURSE IMMUNISER

This course prepares Registered Nurses for authorisation to practice as an Immunisation Program Nurse under the provisions of the Queensland Government Health (Drugs and Poisons) Regulation 1996. The course is delivered via distance (via self-directed study, webinars/videoconferences) and includes optional participation in a one day workshop. There is a clinical practice and assessment component of the course that needs to take place in a childhood immunisation clinic.

Baby weighing, feeding problems and developmental assessment are all part of our child health service, complementing the Healthy Kids Assessment performed by our GP's. They can provide resources such as the local providers of the Triple P parenting program

For patients of the practice with Chronic Disease who have a CARE PLAN in place, we are able to provide TEAMCARE ADDITION allowing access to Medicare subsidies for a number of allied health professionals.

A unique service offered at our practice is the provision of intravenous osteoporosis therapy providing safe and simple, highly effective therapy for bone preservation. This complements a number of therapies which may be given 6 monthly, monthly, weekly or daily.

The practice is now also offering Iron Infusions for those patients with persistent iron deficiency anaemia not responding to oral iron supplements.

Wound management is supervised professionally, allowing the fastest healing possible. In this area, they are assisted by our Enrolled Nurse Merindah Turner and our Medical Assistant, Tash Gray.
